Since the 2020 season, the number of paddlers in the East Region of British Canoeing has increased significantly. These safety notes have been written to try and provide paddlers with more information about the challenges they are likely to encounter if paddling on fresh water rivers that are full of water (winter levels as opposed to summer levels) and when paddling on tidal rivers and estuaries. They have been written by a group of experienced coaches from the East Region.
